A Cibes Air platform lift was installed in an existing G+1 luxury villa in Emirates Hills, Dubai, to provide wheelchair accessibility for the homeowner. Although the villa already had a conventional traction lift, its cabin was too small to accommodate a wheelchair, making an additional lift necessary. The spacious Cibes Air provides the required accessibility, while its white finish and panoramic glass design blend naturally with the villa's elegant interior.
The homeowner uses a wheelchair and needed a lift with enough space for comfortable access between the villa's two floors. The existing traction elevator had a small cabin that could not accommodate a wheelchair, so the homeowner decided to install a larger, more accessible lift.
Existing villa (retrofit installation). The Cibes Air was added to a completed luxury villa in Emirates Hills, Dubai, where a conventional traction elevator was already installed.
The main requirement was to provide sufficient platform space for a wheelchair within the existing villa. Since the original elevator was too small, the homeowner needed an additional lift that could accommodate wheelchair use while fitting into the available area beside the staircase. The lift also needed to complement the villa's existing architecture and interior finishes.
The Cibes Air was chosen for its spacious platform design and accessibility features. Unlike the existing traction lift, the selected Cibes Air configuration provides enough room for the homeowner's wheelchair. Its ergonomic handrail with integrated controls also makes the lift easier to operate from a seated position. The homeowner selected a white finish that complements the villa's bright interior, combining practical accessibility with a design suited to the home.
What makes this project particularly interesting is that the villa already had an elevator, but it did not meet the homeowner's accessibility needs. The installation highlights why usable passenger space is an important consideration when choosing a home lift, especially for wheelchair users. With its panoramic glass shaft, white framing, and generous platform dimensions, the Cibes Air provides the required accessibility without looking out of place in a luxury residence.
