A two-stop Cibes C1 Pure was installed inside a concrete shaft at a medical centre in Wafi Mall, Dubai, to provide direct access between the facility's two floors for patients and employees. Although the mall already has public elevators and escalators, the medical centre needed its own internal lift for greater convenience and accessibility. Installed in 2022, the lift was chosen for its space-efficient design and minimal civil work requirements, and continues to operate with regular preventive maintenance and additional service visits.
The medical center occupies two floors within Wafi Mall and wanted to provide patients and employees with direct access between them. While public elevators and escalators are available elsewhere in the mall, having a dedicated lift inside the facility makes movement more convenient, particularly for patients who may find stairs difficult to use.
Existing commercial building (retrofit installation). The medical center allocated space for a dedicated concrete lift shaft within its premises, allowing the Cibes C1 Pure to be integrated into the existing building.
The main requirement was to install a lift within an existing medical facility while keeping civil works and structural modifications to a minimum. Space efficiency was also important, as the medical center wanted to maximize usable cabin space within the available shaft dimensions. The lift also needed to support regular use by both patients and medical staff.
The Cibes C1 Pure was chosen for its compact, space-efficient construction and suitability for installation inside a concrete shaft. Its low pit requirement and reduced need for extensive civil works made it practical for the existing building. The lift's design also allows efficient use of the shaft area, providing more usable passenger space compared with certain conventional traction lift configurations.
The lift has been in service since 2022 and has required relatively little maintenance. Given its use in a medical facility, the Cibes service team carries out additional preventive maintenance visits each year to help keep the lift in good operating condition. This project highlights the importance of convenient internal accessibility in healthcare facilities, even when public elevators are already available within the building.
