Cibes V90 Home Lift Installation in a Four Seasons Penthouse, Abu Dhabi

Why did the client need a lift?

• Multi-storey home convenience
• Ageing in place / future-proofing
• Home renovation upgrade

The homeowner wanted a more convenient way to move between the two levels of the penthouse without always relying on the stairs. The lift was also intended to make the property more practical and accessible for future needs.

Was it a new build or a renovation?

• Retrofit into an existing building

Existing property (retrofit installation). The lift was added to an already completed duplex penthouse at Four Seasons Abu Dhabi on Al Maryah Island.

What were the challenges and requirements?

The main challenge was installing a home lift on a high floor of an existing residential tower. Transporting large, fully assembled lift structures would have been difficult. Cibes' modular construction allowed the prefabricated components to be brought up through the building's service elevator and assembled on-site, avoiding the need for external crane access.

Why was the Cibes V90 chosen?

The Cibes V90 was selected for its compact footprint and modular, space-saving design. Unlike lift systems that may require larger structural components or a separate machine room, the Cibes solution could be transported in smaller sections and assembled within the penthouse. This made it particularly suitable for a high-floor installation in an existing building.

What else is notable about this project?

This project shows how the practical requirements of installing a lift in a high-rise residence can be just as important as the space available inside the home. The Cibes V90's panoramic glass shaft also works well with the penthouse's bright, open interior, allowing the lift to integrate naturally into the living space.
