The showroom needed to improve accessibility and provide a more comfortable way for customers to move between its two floors. Adding a lift also made the upper level easier to reach for visitors who may have difficulty using the stairs.

Existing commercial property (retrofit installation). The lift was added to an operating luxury furniture showroom in Dubai that was originally designed without an elevator.

The main challenge was introducing a lift into a completed commercial space without major construction work or changes to the existing layout. The showroom also had high interior design standards, so the lift needed to complement the surrounding furniture displays and architectural finishes rather than appear as a purely functional addition.

Why was the Cibes Classic chosen?

The Cibes Classic was chosen for its compact, self-contained design and minimal structural requirements. Its screw-driven system does not require a separate machine room or deep lift pit, making it suitable for an existing showroom. The black finish and panoramic glass shaft also suited the luxury retail environment, allowing the lift to blend naturally with the interior.

What else is notable about this project?

The lift is positioned within the showroom's display area, surrounded by premium furniture and carefully designed interiors. Rather than hiding the lift away in a service area, its design allows it to become part of the retail space. This project shows how an existing commercial property can improve accessibility without compromising its interior design.
