Cibes Classic at Private Villa in Dubai – Khawaneej

Why did the client need a lift?

• Multi-storey home convenience
• Ageing in place / future-proofing

The homeowner wanted to improve comfort and accessibility between the villa's two floors. The lift provides a convenient alternative to using the stairs, making daily movement easier for family members and supporting their future accessibility needs.

Was it a new build or a renovation?

• Retrofit into an existing building

Existing villa (retrofit installation). The Cibes Classic was added to a completed two-storey villa in Dubai.

What were the challenges and requirements?

The main requirement was to fit a functional home lift into the limited space available beside the staircase. With a footprint close to 1 square meter, the compact Cibes Classic made it possible to introduce a lift without requiring a large installation area. Maintaining practical space inside the lift was also an important consideration.

Why was the Cibes Classic chosen?

The Cibes Classic was chosen for its compact dimensions and space-efficient design. Unlike conventional lift systems that may require a separate machine room, the Cibes screw-driven system integrates its machinery within the lift shaft. This allows more of the available footprint to be used for passenger space, making it particularly suitable for smaller installation areas in existing homes.

What else is notable about this project?

The lift is installed directly beside the staircase, with a white finish that blends naturally with the villa's light-colored interior. Despite its small footprint, the design provides a practical way to move between floors, showing that even homes with limited space can accommodate a residential lift.
